The client is a fast-moving construction organization with international reach, delivering complex, large-scale projects in international markets. In the Netherlands, the role operates within a compact business unit, characterized by short decision lines and the support of a larger, financially strong and innovative international organization. As Technical Director, you will lead and further develop the Dutch organization, strengthening its market position and guiding the acquisition and delivery of complex residential projects.
Key responsibilities include providing leadership and driving operational and commercial performance, achieving growth through acquiring and executing large, complex Design & Build (D&B) residential projects, and identifying and leveraging market opportunities to expand in the Netherlands. You will build and maintain strong relationships with clients, partners, and other stakeholders, and ensure project delivery meets high standards for quality, safety, and efficiency. The role also involves close collaboration with the international organization to apply knowledge, innovation, and best practices.
You will coach and develop the local team and promote a high-performance, entrepreneurial culture. The client expects broad experience in the construction sector with a strong focus on residential projects, including proven experience with Design & Build (D&B) projects (required), and demonstrated leadership experience in construction. Strong commercial acumen, business development experience, solid knowledge of the Dutch construction market, the ability to act both strategically and operationally, and excellent communication and stakeholder management are essential, with fluency in Dutch and English and, preferably, good German skills.
