The client is seeking a Technical Director (m/f/d) to provide full technical leadership for the operational project business within an assigned region. The role includes directing and developing multidisciplinary technical and operational teams, and driving the advancement, harmonization, and optimization of construction processes. This will include support for digital transformation initiatives, BIM methodologies, and LEAN concepts, alongside collaboration with executive leadership to define and implement strategic objectives.
The Technical Director will contribute to the acquisition of large-scale projects by participating in steering committees and key industry engagement activities, conducting ongoing market analysis to identify growth opportunities, and engaging strategically with customers in partnership with commercial leadership. In addition, the role provides executive oversight of the project landscape to ensure alignment with cost, schedule, quality, and risk targets, including best-in-class contract and claims management. The position also ensures compliance with technical, regulatory, safety standards, and internal corporate guidelines, while supporting sustainable economic performance of the business unit.
Successful applicants will have a degree in civil engineering or a comparable technical field, as well as extensive professional experience in senior technical roles within the construction industry, ideally with international exposure. The role requires strong leadership capabilities to inspire, develop, and retain high-performing teams, along with strategic and conceptual thinking, initiative, structured decision-making, resilience, and confident communication and negotiation skills with senior stakeholders. Proficiency in English (spoken and written) is expected, intercultural competence is important, and international travel may be required.
