Description

You will join The client in a growth-oriented, private equity-backed services environment with a national footprint and multiple operating businesses. This role offers high visibility with regular exposure to the CFO and other members of executive leadership, and it will support efforts to shape and strengthen the accounting function within a growing, multi-entity organization. You will have the opportunity to meaningfully impact reporting, controls, processes, and infrastructure as the business scales.

As a key technical accounting leader within Corporate Accounting, you will help ensure accurate and timely financial reporting across a complex, multi-entity business. Responsibilities include leading critical components of the monthly, quarterly, and annual close and consolidation processes while improving reporting accuracy and efficiency. You will partner with the CFO, FP&A, shared services, and operational finance teams to provide reliable financial information and improve consistency across the organization, and you will research complex accounting matters, document conclusions, and establish appropriate accounting policies in accordance with U.S. GAAP. You will also lead the annual external audit process, strengthen internal controls and accounting procedures, support finance transformation initiatives (including enhancements to financial systems, reporting tools, the chart of accounts, and close processes), and collaborate on acquisition integration and process standardization.

The ideal background includes progressive accounting experience with a strong mix of public and corporate accounting exposure, along with technical knowledge of U.S. GAAP and experience researching and documenting complex accounting issues. You should have experience leading or playing a significant role in external audits and financial reporting, particularly within complex, multi-entity or multi-business settings, where experience in acquisitive or private equity-backed organizations is a plus. The role also requires the ability to develop and mentor accounting professionals, demonstrate a systems-oriented mindset with advanced Excel skills and comfort working with large financial data sets, and communicate clearly in both written and verbal form to translate complex accounting matters for executive and non-accounting audiences.
