The client is seeking its inaugural Vice President, External Relations. The role focuses on business development and relationship building with state-level partners to expand the organization’s reach and ensure annual revenue goals are met, within an ecosystem supported largely through earned revenue contracts with state education agencies.
Key responsibilities include developing a pipeline for new business with states, establishing strategies and actions to form new relationships and secure ongoing contracts, initiating meetings, and pitching the organization to prospective partners. The role also oversees related processes and systems, including designing and managing a mechanism to track relevant legislation and state budgets to identify partnership opportunities.
The Vice President, External Relations will also raise the organization’s profile and reputation among decision-makers and influencers by securing speaking and presentation opportunities, publishing thought pieces, strengthening partner-facing branding, and tracking relevant events and publications. In addition, the role will maintain and renew existing funding by monitoring contract renewals in partnership with the VP of Regions, and in selected cases may lead strategy and processes to support legislated funding for existing states.
