the client is seeking an experienced tax advisory director to join its corporate tax team as part of its growth strategy. the role will provide tax advisory services across a range of complex transaction and corporate matters, working in collaboration with tax partners across london and regional offices. you will support clients on projects including transaction advice and tax due diligence, corporate reorganisations, employee share incentives, and coordination with relevant internal stakeholders such as corporate finance.
key responsibilities include working with partners to help develop the go-to-market strategy, leading and supporting a diverse client base, and advising management teams and shareholders on business disposals and acquisitions. you will lead and coordinate tax due diligence initiatives across corporate finance, employment tax, and VAT specialists, advise on implementing corporate reorganisations, and review transaction documents such as share purchase agreements and related tax statements and disclosures. the role also involves advising on structuring international groups and cross-border transactions, supporting guidance on property acquisitions and disposals, providing inheritance tax planning advice for private clients using shareholdings, and interpreting and applying double tax treaties in corporate transactions.
you will prepare and support HMRC statutory and non-statutory clearance applications and liaise with tax compliance teams on post-transaction compliance matters. the client expects a professionally qualified candidate with several years of post-qualification experience in corporate tax, due diligence, and M&A, with strong ability to interpret complex tax legislation and deliver practical, commercial advice. you should have experience preparing and reviewing advisory reports and technical correspondence, effective project management skills, strong stakeholder management and relationship-building abilities, and clear written and verbal communication skills to deliver high-quality work while taking ownership of projects.
