The client seeks a System Director of Breast Surgery to provide clinical and administrative leadership for breast surgery practices and the breast program. The director will collaborate with senior executives and administrative and clinician leaders to coordinate clinical services, align program performance with organizational vision and mission, and promote best practices through evidence-based medicine. The role includes ensuring practices meet established goals related to accreditation standards, patient safety, access, revenue cycle, patient satisfaction, and broader clinical performance metrics.
The System Director will work with physician and advanced practitioner teams within the breast surgery practices and will report to the Chief Physician Executive and Chief Administrative Officer. The director is expected to actively participate in leadership councils and other committees as assigned, helping guide program strategy and operational execution. The position includes accountability for efforts that support consistent delivery of high-quality, efficient, and cost-effective patient care across the breast program.
Qualifications include an MD or DO with general or surgical specialty training, an active, unrestricted state medical license (or ability to obtain an unrestricted license), and an active, unrestricted DEA license. Breast surgery fellowship training is preferred, as is minimum practice experience and medical staff leadership experience. Additional preferred qualifications include training in clinical quality improvement, active participation in national breast specialty organizations, clinical expertise in breast cancer with the latest treatments, and participant experience with accreditation programs for breast centers; relevant knowledge of clinical quality improvement, strategic program development, and revenue cycle practices is also expected, along with demonstrated ability to coach and develop clinician teams and collaborate effectively.
