Description

SVP of Construction – Data Center. the client is seeking a high-impact Data Center Construction Executive to spearhead U.S. operations and lead an ambitious data center rollout across North America. This executive role will help build out the company’s data center construction function, providing executive-level influence and visibility while overseeing the full lifecycle of ground-up construction, commissioning, and delivery of digital infrastructure.

Key responsibilities include leading end-to-end execution of hyperscale and edge data center construction projects across multiple U.S. markets; establishing program-wide standards, best practices, and project controls for both construction and commissioning; and driving strategy, planning, scheduling, and execution across multiple concurrent projects. The role also involves coordinating and managing external partners such as contractors, engineers, architects, and vendors; monitoring budgets, timelines, and KPIs while ensuring quality and safety; serving as the primary escalation point for construction matters; resolving issues to keep deliverables on track; and collaborating cross-functionally with operations, finance, sales, and engineering to align construction efforts with broader business goals.

The ideal candidate will bring progressive leadership experience in data center construction or critical infrastructure, with a proven ability to deliver mission-critical environments and strong knowledge of commissioning processes and key mechanical/electrical systems. Additional requirements include extensive experience overseeing multi-state, multi-project portfolios, comfort operating in international or cross-cultural environments, and familiarity with multiple construction contract models. The role also calls for strong budgeting and estimating capabilities, exceptional communication and leadership skills, and proficiency with construction and productivity software; a bachelor’s degree in a relevant field is required, with advanced degrees and professional certifications (such as PMP or CCM) preferred.
