Description

The client is seeking an SVP Commercial Lending Manager to provide strategic leadership and overall direction for lending activities across a defined geographic footprint. This role is expected to drive growth by delivering sound portfolio performance, ensuring legal and regulatory compliance, adhering to bank lending policy, and meeting or exceeding service expectations. The position will also contribute to overall organizational success through effective leadership and management of commercial lending operations.

Responsibilities include managing commercial banking activities for a region poised for strategic commercial lending growth initiatives and leading a team of CRE and C&I lenders. The role will leverage analytical skills to make critical loan decisions, coordinate lender activities to keep project tasks on track through scheduling and executive updates, and provide accurate portfolio management. The SVP Commercial Lending Manager will oversee underwriting and approval of new credit requests and credit line renewals, negotiate transaction terms and conditions, and lead or directly participate in underwriting for CRE and C&I loans within the footprint.

The SVP Commercial Lending Manager will also manage customer retention and performance, conduct rigorous transaction analysis, resolve problem accounts in partnership with internal teams and specialists, and coach and develop lenders. Compliance with credit policies and procedures, as well as applicable federal and state laws and banking regulations, is required. Qualifications include a bachelor’s degree with emphasis in business, accounting, or finance, with an MBA preferred; typically, ten years of commercial banking leadership experience with a minimum of five years in commercial credit review or commercial credit; and demonstrated leadership, communication, organization, and problem-solving and decision-making skills, along with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks and work independently.
