The Superintendent/President serves as the chief executive officer and president of the district and its community college, leading in accordance with the policies and expectations of the board of trustees, a student trustee, the community colleges board of governors, and state law, with a collegial leadership approach.
The role is responsible for guiding the institution’s overall direction and supporting academic and operational priorities in a diverse environment. The client values candidates with experience in diverse academic and socioeconomic settings, a demonstrated commitment to equity-focused leadership and an inclusive educational and working environment, and sensitivity to human diversity. Candidates are expected to have a minimum of a master’s degree from a regionally accredited institution (or equivalent) and at least seven years of progressively responsible senior administrative leadership in education (or comparable executive leadership), along with a proven record of effective organizational management, sound business and operational practices, and strong fiscal oversight. An earned doctorate or other terminal degree is preferred.
