The client is a fast-growing European scale-up with an established international footprint entering a decisive next phase of development focused on further expansion and sustainable profitability. The Statutory CFO will report directly to the CEO and serve as a full member of the Management Board, leading a well-established finance function of approximately 40+ professionals with support from a senior leadership layer.
Key responsibilities include acting as Statutory CFO and contributing to overall corporate strategy and long-term value creation. The role has end-to-end ownership of finance activities including accounting, controlling, FP&A, treasury, tax, audit, investor relations, and risk, with a specific focus on transitioning from growth-led scaling to disciplined, profitable growth supported by strong cash flow and performance management. The Statutory CFO will oversee governance, internal controls, and compliance aligned with listed-company standards, while also supporting international expansion and increasing operational complexity across Europe.
The client seeks a senior finance leader with proven experience in fast-growing scale-up environments operating at board level, ideally including prior experience as a Statutory CFO or a senior finance role within a scale-up, listed, or governance-heavy organization. Strong operational finance expertise across controlling, reporting, FP&A, treasury, and investor-facing responsibilities is expected, along with demonstrated experience managing growth and complexity and shifting toward profitability. Experience leading and scaling finance teams of 40+ FTE and having board-level presence with strong stakeholder management skills are required, with English fluency expected; relevant exposure to capital markets, funding structures, investor environments, and capital- or asset-intensive, infrastructure-heavy or complex operational settings may be advantageous.
