The client is looking for a visionary leader to serve as the Director of Early Childhood Partnerships and Innovation. This role is pivotal in fostering cross-sector collaboration and enhancing the national standing of Flint in early childhood education.
Tasked with driving systemic improvements, the Director will work with families, school districts, researchers, and other stakeholders to ensure cohesive early childhood service delivery in Flint. Key responsibilities include developing and implementing a strategic plan to enhance the quality and accessibility of early childhood education services, leveraging the Flint Early Childhood Collaboratives demonstration sites.
As part of the leadership team, the Director will promote the creation of an educational ecosystem that supports all children in Flint and serves as a benchmark for other communities. Engaging with policymakers is crucial to advocate for policies that elevate the quality and accessibility of early childhood education services both locally and beyond.
In strategic leadership and partnership development, the Director will lead the Flint Early Childhood Collaborative Advisory Committee for long-term engagement. Establishing strategic relationships with funders, policymakers, and civic leaders is vital to position Flint as a leader in early childhood education.
The Director will work with the Educare Learning Network to disseminate best practices and push for a national early childhood advocacy agenda. This includes aligning core initiatives of the client to achieve shared outcomes and strengthen the cradle-to-career framework, and overseeing significant milestone events like Educare Flint's anniversaries with a focus on legacy and future-preparedness.
Research, advocacy, and public engagement are also critical components. The Director will set up a Research-Program Partnership to foster continuous improvement among key stakeholders and facilitate data collection for ongoing research that supports advocacy efforts.
Communication of the impact and benefits of early childhood investments will be key, along with developing advocacy messaging to drive public investment. Additionally, systems-level innovations will be pursued by collaborating with the Flint Early Childhood Collaborative to improve early childhood service delivery.
Identifying professional development needs for educators, enhancing program quality, and improving school district connections are essential tasks. The Director will also focus on fundraising and grant management to identify risks and opportunities within the early childhood funding landscape.
