the client is seeking an exceptional State Manager to lead Victoria and Tasmania operations through a pivotal period of transformation and growth. This hands-on, commercially focused role is intended to reshape regional culture, performance, and strategic direction, while ensuring the business remains strongly aligned to safety, service, financial results, customer outcomes, and employee engagement. Reporting to the Regional General Manager, you will manage day-to-day operations across the region and lead managers across Sales, Field Operations, and Administration in partnership with the regional executive team.
You will lead the development and execution of strategic initiatives, oversee operations to ensure efficiency, quality, and compliance with industry standards, and identify opportunities for growth and business development. Responsibilities also include monitoring financial performance and implementing measures to achieve revenue and profit targets, managing state programs and incentive structures, and supporting succession planning. You will ensure effective risk management and adherence to regulatory requirements, and represent the client at industry events and forums to enhance its profile.
The successful applicant will have demonstrated senior leadership experience in industrial, manufacturing, construction, or engineering environments within large multinational or publicly listed organizations. You should bring a track record of being commercially sharp, financially literate, operationally hands-on, and able to influence culture and capability across large teams. Strong strategic and operational management, exceptional communication and stakeholder management, and the ability to lead diverse teams are essential, along with a relevant tertiary qualification in business, engineering, or a related field.
