A client is seeking a Sr. Credit Officer for the Memphis, TN area. In this role, you will oversee credit analysis and administration teams, including recruitment, development, compensation, and performance management. You will help set direction for credit quality and risk management while supporting the bank’s lending decision process.
Key responsibilities include developing department financial goals related to credit quality, loan volume, and risk distribution; making recommendations on loan structure, terms, risk rating, and pricing; and presenting loan recommendations to management and board-level loan committees for approval. You will work closely with credit analysts and commercial lenders to ensure consistency and completeness of loan presentations, implement and monitor credit policies and procedures, ensure adherence to credit criteria and underwriting requirements, and help maintain asset quality. The role also involves preparing reports on loan quality and growth trends, reviewing real estate data and its impact on the loan portfolio, delegating assignments to balance workloads, and representing the organization in communications with regulators, external loan review, and auditors.
Required qualifications include a bachelor’s degree, ten or more years of commercial banking experience, and ten or more years of progressive leadership experience. The role also calls for experience in credit administration, analysis, and risk mitigation with direct credit approval, along with supervisory experience in commercial real estate, construction, and commercial and industrial lending. Additionally, you will participate in relevant bank committees, including management and directors loan committees.
