The client is a large, diverse social care organisation supporting thousands of people each year across Dublin and the surrounding areas. Its services span homelessness and housing, youth and community services, food poverty support, residential care, counselling, and specialist information and advocacy for migrants, refugees, and Irish emigrants, with a focus on helping people achieve greater stability, independence, and opportunity.
The client is seeking an experienced social care professional to join its Board and help shape strategic direction, governance, and the continued development of its services. The Social Care Board Member will provide senior-level knowledge of delivering services for people experiencing disadvantage, vulnerability, or social exclusion, offering an informed and independent perspective on service quality, safeguarding, risk, regulatory requirements, and evolving needs within the social care sector.
Key qualifications include senior-level experience in social care, social work, community services, or a related field, along with a strong understanding of person-centred and outcomes-focused services. The role also calls for knowledge of safeguarding, quality standards, regulation, and risk in social care, and an understanding of how frontline services relate to public policy and statutory funding, which is typically considered an advantage. The ability to think strategically while remaining grounded in frontline delivery realities is essential, and previous Board experience is welcome but may not be required.
