As Service Director – Economy, Property and Regeneration (Interim), you will lead a pivotal role within a senior leadership team, driving economic growth, attracting investment, and delivering transformational regeneration programmes. You will oversee a diverse portfolio spanning economic development, property, business growth, regeneration, and strategic investment, supporting a major borough agenda with the aim of creating lasting outcomes for communities and businesses.
You will be responsible for delivering ambitious economic growth, regeneration, and inward investment strategies, and for driving major capital projects, property initiatives, and infrastructure programmes that support long-term prosperity. The role includes securing and maximising external funding opportunities from a range of regional, national, and international sources, as well as building influential relationships with developers, investors, businesses, and strategic partners to deliver priority outcomes.
You will provide strategic leadership across service areas, ensuring strong performance, transformation, governance, and effective risk management. The role is suited to a commercially minded leader with extensive senior leadership experience across economic development, regeneration, property, or place-based services, a proven track record of securing significant external funding, and demonstrable success leading organisational change and transformation. You should also have experience working with elected members, senior stakeholders, and partnership boards, along with a relevant professional qualification or substantial comparable strategic leadership experience.
