Description

The client is seeking a Senior Vice President of IT to lead the Information Technology function, balancing day-to-day technology operations with long-term strategic direction. In the first 12–18 months, the role will typically focus on foundational execution and operational maturity, including stabilizing core systems and services, strengthening infrastructure and processes, and establishing operating rhythms to support a complex multi-site retail, mission services, and e-commerce environment. The ideal candidate is a pragmatic, systems-oriented leader who can connect mission, operations, and technology, build trusted partnerships across executive leadership, operational teams, external vendors, and governance stakeholders, and serve as an advocate for technology while prioritizing operational reliability, scalability, and mission impact.

Key focus areas include developing and implementing an AI strategy and supporting emerging technologies; simplifying and modernizing enterprise systems through integration, standardization, and application consolidation; assessing and strengthening core systems for operational resilience and infrastructure performance across enterprise locations; and overseeing cybersecurity and compliance efforts through governance frameworks and best practices that support data integrity, security, and regulatory adherence. The role also includes providing technical guidance for software development and business enablement, including evaluating development priorities and aligning technology investments with long-term organizational needs, while coordinating with internal developers and external partners as appropriate.

The Senior Vice President of IT will lead the strategic development of a future-state enterprise applications architecture and roadmap that reduces siloed point solutions and enables an integrated, scalable platform. Responsibilities include partnering cross-functionally to align technology with organizational priorities; serving as a trusted advisor to executive leadership on enterprise strategy and digital transformation; setting the tone for a collaborative, mission-driven culture through hands-on leadership and influence; and developing plans for data technology operations such as hardware, software, and telecommunications. The role will also involve guiding IT governance, data security, and compliance; driving delivery of enterprise technology projects on time and within scope; mentoring a small internal technology team, managing outsourced partners, and ensuring stakeholder expectations are effectively managed throughout change initiatives.
