The client is seeking a Senior Medical Director for a remote opportunity with an organization specializing in Clinical Documentation Improvement (CDI) and Clinical Diagnosis Improvement (CDxI). This role has been created to support the operational and quality infrastructure as the organization scales. The Senior Medical Director will report directly to the Chief Medical Officer, playing a key role in overseeing day-to-day operations and ensuring the high standards of clinical programs. Responsibilities include supervising the clinical team, overseeing physician-led chart reviews, and maintaining the highest levels of clinical integrity and accuracy in all work products.
Candidates are required to have a medical degree (MD or DO) and maintain an unrestricted medical license in at least one U.S. state, with multiple state licensures preferred. Board certification in a relevant specialty such as internal medicine, family medicine, or hospitalist experience is highly valued. A minimum of 5 years of post-residency clinical experience is required, along with prior clinical leadership experience in supervising clinical staff, program oversight, or holding a medical directorship. Experience in clinical documentation improvement, clinical quality review, and utilization management is essential for credibility in this role.
Preferred qualifications include experience with CDI technology platforms, physician education programs, or health information management functions.
