We are seeking a Senior Group Accountant to join the client’s Group Finance function and report directly to the Group Financial Controller. This high-profile role sits at the centre of an evolving finance operating model across a complex international group, combining core group accounting responsibilities with involvement in consolidation and finance transformation initiatives. The role will work closely with UK and international finance teams and interact with senior stakeholders to strengthen group finance capabilities through improved reporting, controls, and process scalability.
The Senior Group Accountant will own month-end accounting activities, including preparation of management accounts and balance sheet reconciliations. The role will support group consolidation and statutory reporting across a complex, multi-entity structure, manage intercompany accounting to ensure accurate balances and funding flows, and take ownership of head office accounting across multiple entities. The position will also support systems change and collaborate with the Group Consolidation team to improve reporting quality and timeliness, while helping simplify and standardise processes across a decentralised finance function.
The role will contribute to stronger controls, governance, and visibility across accounting and compliance, and will be involved in finance transformation initiatives and system implementations. Collaboration with tax, treasury, FP&A, and external stakeholders is expected to support effective reporting and reconciliations. Suitable candidates will be fully qualified (ACA, ACCA, or equivalent) with experience in a large, complex, multi-entity organisation, strong month-end and financial accounting experience, exposure to group consolidation and statutory reporting, and the ability to improve and simplify processes; experience with ERP systems or finance transformation is desirable, along with a proactive, independent working style and strong attention to detail.
