the client is seeking a Senior Financial Crimes Compliance Officer for a banking group in London. The role reports into the MLRO and will support senior stakeholders in upholding the bank’s financial crime compliance framework, providing advice on matters including AML and transaction-related considerations.
Key responsibilities include monitoring and acting on trigger events, changes in client data, and completing periodic reviews to ensure client information remains current. The role will help identify potential financial crime vulnerabilities and risks, develop and implement corrective action plans to resolve problematic issues, and provide practical guidance to help prevent recurrence. The officer will be expected to manage tasks with strong attention to detail, complete work in a timely manner, and escalate cases to senior management when necessary.
The position requires current experience within financial crime compliance in a bank or wealth manager, with a strong background in AML. The client expects knowledge of screening approaches, familiarity with relevant regulatory requirements such as MiFID II, and experience operating within the compliance division of a private bank, asset management company, or wealth manager in the UK. Strong IT and presentation skills are needed, along with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, sometimes high-stress environment.
