the client is seeking a senior finance leader to oversee national finance operations and provide enterprise-wide business partnering in a complex, project-based environment. Operating across multiple divisions generating significant national revenue, the role focuses on strengthening financial capability, delivering commercial insight, and supporting ongoing growth.
Reporting to the CFO, the position combines strategic oversight with hands-on execution. It will lead finance operations and act as the primary finance partner to senior operational leadership, with responsibilities including uplifting management reporting and decision support, improving reporting accuracy, and embedding robust financial frameworks across the organisation. The role is expected to strengthen governance and consistency across entities, enhance systems and processes to improve scalability and reduce reliance on manual reporting, and serve as a trusted advisor to executive and senior operational leaders.
Success will depend on strong stakeholder management and the ability to influence and challenge constructively while partnering effectively with leadership. The role will work closely with the CFO, COO, divisional general managers, and regional leaders, and will coach, develop, and lead a national finance team to build future capability while leveraging shared services to improve efficiency and performance. The successful applicant is expected to be a commercially astute finance leader with experience in project-based, contracting, or infrastructure environments, with a proven track record of building senior stakeholder relationships, creating scalable finance structures and processes, and leading high-performing finance teams in fast-moving, complex settings.
