the client is seeking a Senior Director of Trade Compliance to build and lead a next-generation global trade compliance program. This is a high-impact role positioned at the center of growth, supply chain resilience, and executive risk visibility, with the opportunity to shape a proactive, enterprise-grade compliance model that influences key enterprise partners, including legal, operations, and finance.
Reporting to the Chief Compliance Officer, the role will design and implement a scalable global trade compliance operating model covering import, export, customs, and sanctions, aligned to applicable regulatory frameworks. Responsibilities include defining and leading global trade compliance strategy, governance, and operating model; overseeing customs, tariffs, classification, origin, valuation, export controls, and sanctions compliance; and establishing controls, monitoring, audit readiness, and remediation processes.
The Senior Director will partner cross-functionally with Legal, Supply Chain, Finance, and Operations, and will lead trade compliance support for M&A diligence and integration. The client expects a leader with 15+ years of global trade compliance experience with enterprise scope, strong ability to build or transform compliance programs in complex environments, and deep expertise across customs, export controls, and sanctions, along with commercial judgment to influence senior stakeholders; experience in global manufacturing or industrial sectors is preferred.
