Description

The client is seeking a Senior Director, Strategic Execution to help translate organizational strategy into coordinated, high-quality execution as it enters a new phase of growth. In this senior leadership role, you will build and lead planning processes, operating rhythms, and accountability systems that keep teams aligned and focused on the highest-impact work. You will report directly to the Executive Director and serve as the organization’s chief integrator across programs, policy and advocacy, communications, operations, and emerging initiatives.

You will partner with the Executive Director to convert strategic vision into a focused set of organizational priorities, aligning annual goals into coordinated execution plans across teams. Responsibilities include maintaining visibility across key organizational functions, facilitating cross-functional prioritization and planning conversations, and building shared visibility into priorities, ownership, dependencies, timelines, and progress. You will also design and continuously improve core planning and management processes, including practical operating systems, planning tools, dashboards, and effective meeting structures to strengthen organizational communication and information flow.

As a strategic partner, you will help frame tradeoffs, sequencing decisions, and capacity constraints, proactively coordinate cross-functional work, and reduce the Executive Director’s operational and decision-making burden through candid, judgment-based counsel. You will drive accountability by surfacing and resolving cross-team challenges tied to timing, scope, sequencing, and coordination, reinforcing clear norms for decision-making and communication, and cultivating a culture of accountability grounded in trust and transparency. You will also help lead organizational expansion through a two-year state-based pilot by overseeing evaluation and continuous improvement, and documenting and codifying plans, decisions, and lessons learned; the role requires at least 10 years of senior leadership experience in operations, strategy, chief of staff, or organizational leadership, including demonstrated success translating strategy into execution across multiple teams or functions.
