The client seeks a Senior Director of Principal Gifts who will complement the organization’s existing development staff and expand support for long-term financial growth and sustainability. In this role, you will help realize fundraising potential by advancing principal gifts efforts aligned with the organization’s mission to inspire lifelong learning, promote civic engagement, and encourage civil discourse through documentary storytelling. You will report to the President and CEO.
The Senior Director of Principal Gifts will develop and execute a comprehensive principal gifts strategy, including cultivation and management of relationships within a portfolio of high-net-worth individuals and other philanthropic stakeholders such as corporate partners, foundations, and institutions. Responsibilities will also include partnering with internal teams to identify and cultivate new prospects, diversify and expand philanthropic support, and strengthen the organization’s profile and impact through effective leadership in fundraising.
The client’s work includes supporting filmmakers across established, emerging, and student categories by providing resources and recognition for documentary films characterized by deep archival research, engaging storytelling, and ideological balance. This fundraising leadership role is expected to bring additional capacity to sustain and grow the organization while strengthening its ability to bring people together around shared stories of the past.
