The client is seeking a Senior Director of Philanthropic Engagement, Southeast to build an entrepreneurial presence and development operation in the Southeastern United States, with a base in the Miami area and regional reach across South Florida and other Southeast markets. The role supports the client’s mission through relationship-driven, intellectually engaged philanthropy, helping to strengthen brand presence and position the organization as a meaningful investment. The Senior Director will lead regional growth efforts and, over time, is expected to build and manage a team anchored in the region.
Key responsibilities include identifying, qualifying, cultivating, and soliciting major and principal gift prospects among both newly arrived and established Jewish communities in Miami and nearby areas. The Senior Director will develop local networks, including supporters at higher giving levels, and will conduct in-person cultivation, stewardship, and solicitation meetings with an emphasis on authentic intellectual engagement and long-term relationship building. The role also involves developing new individual donors, family foundations, and other institutional funders with minimal reliance on an existing donor base, and recruiting new board candidates in regional communities.
The Senior Director will design and execute a curated annual “Season of Ideas” suite of engagement opportunities from November through April, including salons, VIP learning experiences, private dinners, and leadership programming featuring scholars, faculty, and local educators. The position will leverage local scholarly assets and visiting leadership to build an ongoing donor engagement calendar, adapt offerings across multiple centers of Jewish life, and serve as a point person for senior leadership visits to Florida. This opportunity may be well-suited to someone who can combine strategic fundraising leadership with program curation and regional network building.
