the client Senior Director of Development is the senior leader of the client fundraising function, accountable for overall strategy, performance, systems, and long-term philanthropic growth. The role owns and drives the full fundraising portfolio, including major gifts, institutional giving, donor stewardship, and pipeline development, with the goal of achieving ambitious revenue targets while building a scalable, high-performing development operation.
In this position, the client will architect the organization’s philanthropic strategy, lead the Philanthropic Partnerships team, and oversee fundraising execution end to end. Responsibilities include building and optimizing development systems, strengthening pipeline discipline, and ensuring consistent forecasting and performance management. The role also functions as a frontline fundraiser, cultivating and securing high-impact, multi-year investments from major donors and institutional partners.
The client will partner closely with senior leadership on top donor relationships, key solicitations, and strategic engagement opportunities, particularly with ultra-high-net-worth individuals, family offices, and influential philanthropic partners. The role will coach internal stakeholders across senior leadership and program teams on fundraising strategy and donor engagement, and will help embed a culture of philanthropy across the organization. Externally, the client will serve as a key ambassador with donors, foundations, and partners, and may include travel to support cultivation and relationship management across key regions.
