the client is seeking a highly strategic Senior Director of Communications to shape, protect, and elevate the organization’s public voice through nuanced, high-impact messaging. In this role, you will develop and execute communications strategies that support organizational narrative and oversee programmatic storytelling. You will work closely with creative/digital, marketing and communications, and development teams to understand the full scope of the organization’s work and ensure ideas, programs, and scholarship are communicated with clarity, nuance, and coherence.
The Senior Director will manage a dedicated communications team and partner across departments to translate the organization’s intellectual, educational, and communal work across geographies into clear, compelling narratives for North American audiences. responsibilities include setting the high-level strategy and vision for organizational storytelling platforms (such as the website and communications channels), serving as an editorial filter for public-facing messaging, and advising program, development, education, and Israel-based colleagues to ensure consistent, mission-aligned storytelling. You will also develop and implement a proactive media relations strategy, leveraging existing media relationships to secure op-eds, interviews, and features.
you will support executive leadership with rapid-response and crisis communications, providing steady guidance during complex communal or geopolitical moments. You will lead audience growth efforts by leveraging digital and email platforms to support program teams and relational marketing, developing strategies to increase reach and deepen engagement with key cohorts. the role includes overseeing day-to-day channel execution, establishing KPIs and using audience insights and data analytics to refine digital distribution, and ensuring consistent brand standards and institutional voice across materials and platforms, including review of marketing collateral and strategic oversight of brand-related creative work.
