The client is seeking a Senior Director of Advancement to serve as a strategic and creative leader responsible for overseeing and integrating fundraising and communications programs to ensure alignment with the organization’s mission. This role manages and coordinates a small advancement and communications team, including development staff, a Director of Communications, and a communications contractor, and works to ensure cohesive strategy and effective execution across the department.
The Senior Director of Advancement will partner closely with the President to engage the board and other volunteers, helping to mobilize support and leverage resources needed to advance organizational goals. The role will support the organization’s conservation work by strengthening development and communications efforts that help further its impact on protected lands and waters, including initiatives that may involve habitat protection, land conservation, and farmland stewardship.
The ideal candidate will have experience leading fundraising and communications functions and the ability to both lead and support team members while maintaining mission alignment. Strong partnership skills are expected, including the ability to collaborate with leadership and volunteer stakeholders. The position is hybrid in Ithaca, New York.
