The client is seeking a Senior Director of Major Gifts & Stewardship to join its Development team. This role is for an accomplished philanthropy professional with an entrepreneurial spirit and a growth mindset, responsible for managing and overseeing the development, delivery, and implementation of strategic major gift and stewardship plans. The position emphasizes building authentic donor relationships and communicating opportunities clearly and transparently within an integrated advancement environment.
The Senior Director will work closely with the Vice President, Development, and collaborate with leadership and senior volunteers to develop strategies aligned with major giving goals and initiatives. Responsibilities include establishing operating plans and objectives, setting solicitation priorities, and supporting cultivation and recognition activities. The role also involves engaging and leading senior volunteers to inspire donors to support the client’s priorities, including donors at the six-figure level and above, as well as identifying, cultivating, and soliciting major gift prospects.
As a leader, the Senior Director will support team trust and confidence while fostering professional development and sharing relevant sector trends and best practices with the broader Development team. The role includes participating in volunteer recruitment, orientation, training, and motivation for major gift programs. In consultation with other Development colleagues, the Senior Director will lead the creation of comprehensive donor-centric stewardship plans and oversee donor engagement to help advance the client’s mission and revenue targets.
