Description

As The client’s Senior Director, Legal & Policy, you will lead legal, regulatory, and policy advocacy related to the federal 340B drug pricing program. Based in Washington, DC, you will support member education and practical guidance for hospitals and health systems participating in 340B, translating complex legal and policy issues into clear advocacy and actionable direction. This high-impact role includes educating members and stakeholders on 340B compliance, policy, and advocacy matters, and contributing to strategic planning, goal setting, and updates to the Board of Directors.

You will lead legal, policy, and regulatory advocacy work for the 340B program, including legal analyses, policy proposals, and agency letters and comments on proposed guidance and regulations. You will oversee advocacy efforts in coordination with coalition partners and allied organizations, as well as manage state advocacy by providing member resources, monitoring state developments, and supporting state-specific needs. You will partner with Legal and Policy Division leaders to identify areas requiring policy development, advocacy, or legal action, and then help develop and execute action plans.

You will create member-facing and external materials, such as articles, communications, educational resources, and presentation content for conferences, webinars, and roundtables. You will also support conference planning activities, including agenda and session development, speaker vetting, and presentation review. The ideal candidate brings deep expertise in 340B and the regulatory landscape affecting pharmaceutical policy, Medicare, Medicaid, and hospital issues, along with strong analytical and research, writing, and communication abilities to clearly inform members and stakeholders through reports and detailed analyses; experience with 340B that is transferable to a trade association setting is preferred. A Juris Doctorate or a master’s degree in public policy is preferred, and the role typically requires at least 7+ years of experience in public or private practice healthcare with emphasis on 340B pharmacy expertise, in roles such as healthcare law practice, hospital or clinical settings, academic medical or pharmacy operations, healthcare associations, or policy-focused congressional office work.
