Description

The client seeks a Senior Director, Project Management and Office Operations to support the Chief of Staff in strengthening cross-functional alignment and scaling leadership capacity through an Executive Office project management office function. This role combines leading a portfolio of evergreen operational work with enterprise-level project management responsibilities, providing clarity, momentum, and disciplined execution across competing priorities. The position includes leading a direct report (Office Coordinator) and operating at both the systems and day-to-day effectiveness levels.

For evergreen work (approximately 60%), the Senior Director will design and steward complex operational initiatives focused on workplace operations, knowledge management, and culture. The work includes establishing systems and practices that reduce friction and support the Shared Services Team office, bringing structure to ambiguity, managing multiple complex workstreams, and thinking systemically about how the organization functions. Responsibilities also cover planning and coordinating hosting needs for meetings and larger convenings to ensure consistently prepared, high-quality experiences.

For the project management office function (approximately 40%), the Senior Director will operate as part of an organization-wide team that takes on cross-functional initiatives when project management rigor and leadership capacity are needed. Key responsibilities span setting long-term standards for the office environment, driving space planning and workplace logistics practices (including facilities coordination, vendor management, inventory, and related operational systems), and advancing knowledge management approaches that help prevent institutional knowledge from becoming siloed as the organization grows. Overall, the role will be expected to ensure the office environment functions effectively as both an operational hub and a central convening space for staff and larger organizational gatherings.
