The client is seeking a Senior Director for their Portfolio Optimisation consulting practice in the Asia Pacific region. This high-impact, client-facing leadership role is dedicated to assisting financial institutions in enhancing and optimizing their cards and payments businesses. The role involves leading strategic consulting engagements with financial institutions, advising on portfolio performance, profitability, and growth enhancement. Such engagements will include initiatives like credit card product design, customer acquisition and channel optimization, and portfolio diagnostics, thereby helping institutions manage customer lifecycles and execute portfolio transformations effectively.
In this capacity, the Senior Director will manage end-to-end consulting projects typically lasting two to four months across various markets. Responsibilities include advising senior client stakeholders on strategies related to growth, risk, and profitability, and translating data insights into actionable business recommendations. By partnering with cross-functional teams, including those in data and analytics, and driving business development through proposals and client engagement, the role also involves the creation of thought leadership materials like playbooks and whitepapers to propagate best practices.
The ideal candidate will have over 15 years of experience in the cards and payments sector, preferably within a bank or issuer context, with a proven track record in managing credit card P&L or portfolio performance. A deep understanding of acquisition strategies, portfolio management, and risk versus reward trade-offs is essential, along with strong commercial acumen and strategic thinking abilities. The role requires executive presence and the ability to influence senior stakeholders, with a preference for candidates who have experience working across multiple markets in the APAC region.
