the client provides 360° search solutions to global commodities markets, with coverage across trading houses, producers, utilities, merchants, hedge funds, investment banks, and brokerages. the client is seeking a Senior Business Controller to join its team and support the agri business, reporting directly to the CEO / CFO.
Key responsibilities include overseeing and managing accounting and finance functions for the agri business to ensure accuracy, compliance, and timely reporting. the role will also interface with auditors to manage audits across geographies and maintain effective relationships with global audit firms. In addition, the position will handle tax planning and compliance for the agri business, stay current with applicable regulations, and provide holistic, timely MIS to the agri board with performance metrics to support top management review and strategic decision-making.
The role is expected to suit candidates with a minimum 10–15 years of experience in financial control, including at least five years in a financial controller position within agricultural commodities. Candidates should have knowledge of IFRS, and additional understanding of relevant regional accounting frameworks will be considered an advantage. Fluency in English and Hindi is required, and the position is expected to be held by a fully qualified chartered accountant or an MBA in finance (from a top-tier institute, where applicable).
