the client seeks an exceptional, student-centered leader to serve as Senior Associate Vice President & Dean of Students (Dean, SAVP & DoS). This newly envisioned role will help shape the student experience within the client’s student affairs division, which is grounded in an ethic of care and characterized by relational, collaborative, and responsive support for students. The Dean is expected to strengthen belonging across a diverse, high-performing student community and lead with integrity, empathy, and responsiveness.
the Dean provides leadership across Health and Wellness, including counseling and psychological services, health services, and wellness and meaning-making programs; Community Responsibility & Culture, including civility initiatives, community responsibility, and student diversity and inclusion; First Year Orientation & Family Engagement, including fraternity and sorority life; Residential Education; and Student Support Services. In this capacity, the leader will guide key areas of culture, care, crisis, and conduct, shaping systems and elevating coordination among student support functions while working with a talented team and organizational leadership within the division.
the ideal candidate is an accessible, student-centered leader with at least a decade of progressive student affairs experience and a master’s and/or terminal degree in a relevant field. They will bring a demonstrated record of guiding complex organizational change, managing crises with clarity and compassion, and supporting both undergraduate and graduate learners. The role calls for strong communication and relationship-building skills, a collaborative spirit, data-informed decision-making, and the ability to inspire and develop a large, talented team, with a deep commitment to holistic student well-being and sound judgment in navigating sensitive issues.
