The client is seeking a Senior Associate Dean to provide senior leadership and strategic guidance under the direction of the Executive Dean. The role oversees finances, budgets, and administrative operations to help ensure the college’s viability and success while navigating complex budgetary and financial matters. The Senior Associate Dean will work closely with the Executive Dean to support planning, decision-making, and optimization efforts across the organization’s academic medical operations.
Key responsibilities include oversight of the College of Medicine’s budget, financial, and accounting processes in collaboration with the Executive Dean, assistant deans, and department business and finance leaders. The role will participate in budget discussions with senior leadership and central finance, integrate departmental operational and capital plans into broader institutional strategic planning, and support long-range budget modeling. It will also develop the departmental annual operating budget, oversee funds flow between the organization and clinical partners, and create recurring budget performance reporting, including formal quarterly financial reporting to leadership.
In addition, the Senior Associate Dean will ensure quarterly financial evaluations across departments to identify issues early and develop action plans. The position provides oversight and monitoring of internal financial control structures within departments and supports financial reporting, analysis, long-range planning, and institutional research analysis. The role also supports the execution and optimization of affiliation agreements and assists with clinical productivity analysis, including analysis and optimization of state, sponsored project, and gift fund utilization across multiple campuses.
