The client is looking for an experienced SEND Tribunal and Mediation Officer to join their team on a 3-6 month interim contract, working remotely or on a hybrid basis. This role involves supporting the resolution of disputes between families and the client regarding SEND provision, focusing on legal compliance, managing tribunal cases, and facilitating mediation to avoid formal proceedings when possible. The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating responses to tribunal appeals, preparing documentation, and representing the client at hearings. Additionally, the position requires collaboration with families, legal representatives, schools, and internal teams to handle complex cases with sensitivity and professionalism.
In this key role, the officer will manage SEND tribunal appeals, including gathering evidence and preparing legal documentation. They will arrange and support mediation meetings to resolve disputes informally and ensure compliance with the SEND Code of Practice and statutory timelines.
