Description

The client seeks a legal professional to provide counsel to Fixed Income sales and trading activities, including FX, rates, credit, derivatives, high-yield and distressed trading, and electronic trading, along with related legal and regulatory matters. The role will advise on regulatory considerations and new initiatives, and will support efforts in response to regulatory inquiries and special remediation associated with covered business lines.

Key responsibilities include collaborating with front office, litigation, and control functions to address regulatory issues, providing coverage for Title VII and swap dealer matters, and advising on regulatory margin requirements for OTC derivatives. The position will also involve assisting with the management of external counsel relationships.

The successful applicant will have a J.D. from a US ABA-accredited law school and is expected to have at least 3 years of experience supporting swaps, FX, rates, credit, derivatives, high-yield and distressed trading, electronic trading, and related initiatives. Admission to the US State Bar is required, along with experience advising on repo (including sponsored and whole-loan repo), securities lending, and swaps, a strong understanding of the ISDA framework, and strong drafting and negotiating skills, with the ability to simplify legal advice for multiple stakeholders in a fast-paced environment.
