The client is seeking a Sales Director for a craft beer brewery and distribution business operating across local markets in New Jersey, New York, and Connecticut. The primary objective is to increase sales across both on-premise and off-premise accounts through effective field leadership and market-focused execution.
The role will hire, train, and lead regional and local sales managers and staff, establish sales goals and incentives, and regularly evaluate performance against targets. It includes organizing sales schedules and territories, overseeing day-to-day performance, collaborating with owners to develop goals and strategies, and providing direction to ensure sales goals are consistently met.
The Sales Director will analyze sales and operational records using data to project sales and product needs, support profitability targets, and identify new sales opportunities. Additional responsibilities include understanding customer preferences to guide sales and marketing efforts, resolving customer and operational issues affecting sales performance, preparing and monitoring the sales budget and expenses, and performing other assigned duties. The ideal candidate has 3–5 years of field team management and 5–7 years of experience in beer, wine, or spirits, along with strong leadership, negotiation, customer service, organizational, and detail-oriented skills; proficiency with Microsoft Office (especially Excel) and a bachelor’s degree in a related business field are also expected.
