Description

The client is an established optical industry supplier offering reading glasses, sunglasses, and health and personal care products through a broad retail network. The Sales Director will lead the sales department with the goal of maximizing revenue growth and expanding market share, with the role expected to focus largely on new business development while also managing longer-term growth with major national key accounts. The position will involve building and scaling relationships with retail partners and aligning sales execution with broader branding efforts.

Key responsibilities include developing and executing sales strategy and identifying new market opportunities, as well as leading and developing the sales team to achieve performance goals through training and ongoing feedback. The Sales Director will manage key partner relationships and coordinate with marketing to support unified branding and sales initiatives, while monitoring market trends and competitor activity to inform sales tactics. The role also includes overseeing sales operations such as forecasting, budgets, and performance metric tracking, and maintaining strong product knowledge to ensure the sales team is well-equipped.

The ideal candidate will have a background in new business development, ideally within the eyewear industry, and will bring a strategic vision for impactful sales initiatives. A Bachelor’s degree in Business or Marketing is required, with an MBA being preferred. The client expects a consistent track record of achieving and exceeding sales targets, strong analytical and planning capabilities, and excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills, along with proficiency using CRM and sales analysis tools.
