As part of the client’s Executive Management team, the Retail Director will lead regional operations managers, the training function, and other personnel to ensure smooth day-to-day operations across company-owned and operated retail sites. The role is responsible for developing and directing store operations strategy, supporting the execution of best practices, and improving operational efficiencies, productivity, and overall operational standards.

The Retail Director will drive succession planning and workforce planning, and will focus on developing direct reports to build a culture of accountability tied to measurable performance. They will work to enhance the customer experience through coaching, engagement, and teamwork, and will partner with the Marketing Director to develop in-store strategy aimed at growing sales and profits while maintaining alignment with corporate mission and vision.

Key responsibilities include accountability for sales, profits, people development, and operational performance; translating strategic goals into retail operational plans; managing labor budget hours with attention to productivity and overtime; and ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures, including training and standards for age-restrictive product retail. The role will also oversee training planning with the training manager, proactively manage performance for regional leaders, and collaborate with HR to resolve people management issues. The position is expected to be hands-on and systems-minded, with strong communication, analytical, and people management skills; experience in upscale multi-store retail operations is expected, including significant prior multi-store leadership.
