The client seeks highly successful, research-intensive faculty members and center directors at the tenured associate or full professor level to establish research centers and help build a nationally distinctive engine for health transformation as part of a new Precision Public Health Initiative. This initiative is a school-wide effort focused on closing the gap between discovery and population health impact by integrating multi-scale data from molecular to societal levels. The school aims to develop integrative, responsive, and resilient public health systems that may support health protection for people in Arizona and beyond.
Responsibilities include conducting foundational and applied research through newly established interdisciplinary research centers, with thematic areas that may include mental health, substance use, women’s health, children’s health, cardiometabolic disorders, infectious diseases, injury prevention, and indigenous health. The role is expected to leverage emerging technologies and approaches, potentially including AI and machine learning, digital health, virtual or augmented reality, and edge computing, to support delivering the right intervention to the right population at the right time. Candidates will be expected to contribute to research-center growth and may bring prior leadership experience from well-developed research centers or strong research enterprises.
Qualifications emphasize a demonstrated track record of conducting foundational and applied research, including interests in areas such as AI and machine learning, spatial and environmental health, digital health and wearables, precision policy design, infodemiology and health communication, and related precision public health methods.
