Description

Due to an internal promotion, the client is seeking a Regional Philanthropy Senior Officer to meet fundraising goals and objectives while building relationships with corporate donors in the Los Angeles region and supporting the organization’s mission. The role will focus on identifying, engaging, cultivating, soliciting, and stewarding current and prospective regional donors to expand their financial support.

Responsibilities include developing and executing an ongoing regional strategy for qualifying donors to support retention, growth of contributions, and recapture of previous donors. The officer will collaborate with other departments and fundraising staff to create customized solicitation approaches aligned with organizational objectives and donor interests, and may lead a team in planning and implementing fundraising strategies. The role also involves managing an assigned portfolio of donors and prospects, building deep relationships, and developing donor management plans that support strategic and informed asks.

The officer will be responsible for a minimum annual fundraising goal for an assigned corporate or blended portfolio, covering both renewals and new incremental revenue. Solicitation is expected through face-to-face visits with preparation of personalized materials, and the officer will also serve as a mentor and operational resource to less experienced team members. Additional duties include implementing programming to identify, cultivate, solicit, and steward donors at higher giving levels, working with leadership volunteers and gift planning staff, updating donor records in regional systems, and serving as a team lead for prospect development programs as needed. Requirements include a bachelor’s degree, with an advanced degree considered highly desirable, and typically at least seven years of sales and/or fundraising experience; strong interpersonal and communication skills, comfort working with multiple constituencies, proficiency with office and fundraising databases, and a valid driver’s license with a good driving record are expected.
