Description

the client is seeking a Regional Philanthropy Officer – Individual Donors to drive major gift fundraising and deepen relationships with individual supporters across the Greater Houston and Gulf Coast Region. This frontline role focuses on identifying, cultivating, soliciting, and stewarding individual donors at the major giving level, while building a strong donor pipeline and developing engagement strategies tailored to donor interests. The officer will also mobilize philanthropic support with particular attention to mission alignment and urgency during disaster response.

Key responsibilities include collaborating with leadership to create and execute a comprehensive fundraising plan, including disaster relief fundraising efforts, prospecting, and monitoring performance metrics. The officer will lead the full cycle of major gifts—identifying, qualifying, cultivating, soliciting, and stewarding individual donors capable of giving at the $5,000+ level annually. They will serve as a primary point of contact for assigned donors, delivering a responsive, high-touch experience, and will communicate the mission through compelling storytelling and personalized proposals. The role also emphasizes data-driven execution through accurate recordkeeping and performance tracking, along with collaboration across teams and inspiration of volunteers to align donor strategies with organizational priorities.

To succeed, the candidate should be a strategic, metrics-driven fundraising leader with demonstrated major gift strategy execution and performance management. They should be an authentic relationship builder capable of establishing long-term, trust-based connections with donors and stakeholders, and be able to remain effective in fast-paced, high-urgency environments. The role requires strong communication, negotiation, and organizational skills, and a valid driver’s license with a good driving record.
