Description

The client seeks a Regional Organizing Director responsible for recruiting, training, and managing a team of paid canvassers and volunteers, executing the statewide organizing plan, and supervising program operations within assigned regions. The role involves partnering with the Deputy Director of Programs and Organizing to plan and deliver educational community events and town halls, create connections with community organizations and stakeholders, and represent the client at community meetings and events when advised. Work will be in a fast-paced, flexible organizing and paid canvassing environment, with direct reporting to the Managing Director.

Key responsibilities include hiring and managing a team of approximately 4–8 part-time and full-time staff, sourcing candidates from centered communities, identifying connections, evaluating current staffing needs, and providing coaching and development on best practices for organizing, community education, and canvassing. The Director will lead by example in voter registration collection, provide civic education to direct reports and to the communities served, and support civic engagement efforts through direct relationship-building and leadership of educational events. The role also includes preparing the regional team for Get Out The Vote (GOTV) activities and using structured turf and canvassing operations during those efforts.

The Director will manage administration, goals, and metrics by coordinating weekly schedules for direct reports, monitoring regional performance against voter registration metrics, and adjusting strategy to meet daily, weekly, and monthly goals. They will develop and drive plans to ensure targets are achieved or exceeded, maintain accurate and timely reporting, and apply rigorous standards for data collection and quality control for voter registration and GOTV activities. The role requires proficiency using Votebuilder (VAN), and it is expected that the Director can thoughtfully navigate diversity, equity, inclusion, and accessibility considerations while maintaining a strong commitment to advancing those values.
