Description

The client is seeking a Regional Organizing Director to lead organizing efforts across a multi-county region in western Pennsylvania. This full-time, exempt role reports to the Managing Director and will recruit, train, and manage a team of paid canvassers and volunteers while executing a statewide organizing plan. The position also involves planning and delivering educational community events and town halls in partnership with the Deputy Director of Programs and Organizing, building connections with community organizations and stakeholders, and supervising regional operations.

Key responsibilities include recruiting, hiring, and managing a team (approximately 4–8 part-time and full-time staff), identifying and developing connections in communities, and coaching staff and volunteers on effective canvassing and organizing, community education, and best practices. The role is expected to conduct weekly team meetings and individual check-ins, hire from centered communities, and provide ongoing coaching and professional development to support team performance and growth.

The Regional Organizing Director will lead program execution by working on the ground with the team for at least 20 hours per week to support voter registration efforts and civic education. The role includes representing the client at community events when advised, preparing the regional team for Get Out The Vote activities, preparing and managing regional goals and metrics, and scheduling and monitoring staff hours while approving weekly timesheets. The role requires the ability to thoughtfully navigate diversity, equity, inclusion, and accessibility issues and includes an expectation of long or irregular hours, including nights and weekends.
