The client is seeking a Regional Director of School Psychology for Elementary Schools to serve as a key leader within the Student Support Services team. This role strengthens behavioral, mental health, and special education systems across a portfolio of elementary schools, with a strategic, systems-oriented focus on improving outcomes for students with disabilities and students who need behavioral and social-emotional interventions.
Reporting to the Senior Director of Special Education, the Regional Director partners with school leaders, Directors of Student Support Services, school psychologists, social workers, and regional teams to design sustainable systems of support. Responsibilities include leading and continuously improving Multi-Tiered Systems of Support (MTSS), building the capacity of school teams to implement evidence-based interventions, developing school-based leaders and educators, and ensuring compliance with special education requirements. The role emphasizes clinical expertise, a belief in each student’s potential, and a commitment to educational equity.
Core duties include overseeing the quality of Functional Behavioral Assessments (FBAs) and Behavior Intervention Plans (BIPs) across schools, providing coaching and consultation to staff, and delivering direct clinical support for complex or high-need cases. The Regional Director will develop recommendations for behavioral, cognitive, and academic supports, partner with teams to implement and evaluate evidence-based behavioral interventions, and support school-wide behavior initiatives such as Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS), restorative practices, and collaborative problem solving. This full-time position uses a hybrid schedule with a minimum of three in-person days per week from a Midtown Manhattan office and includes travel to client campuses across the Bronx, Brooklyn, and Manhattan, with visit cadence determined by leadership.
