Description

The client is seeking a Regional Director, Facilities for the East Region. The role reports to the Vice President of Facilities and leads a team of seven direct reports. Responsibilities include providing regional leadership to multiple client hospitals by planning, organizing, directing, and controlling facilities department activities, with oversight of maintenance, plant engineering, waste processing, grounds, environmental compliance, and sustainability services.

The Regional Director is responsible for directing hospital facility operations, equipment operations, maintenance and repair activities, preventative maintenance, and physical plant operations. The position also includes coordinating capital construction and renovation projects, managing outside vendors, and preparing and administering departmental budgets. The role focuses on developing goals and objectives, supporting a team-oriented and innovative work environment, improving efficiencies, reducing costs, meeting regulatory requirements, and delivering high-quality facilities services aligned with best practices and sustainability considerations, while assisting senior leaders with organizational goals and strategic plans.

Core duties emphasize analyzing responsibilities and establishing priorities; structuring responses to unexpected events; setting short- and long-term objectives; and overseeing continuous compliance related to facilities standards and regulatory requirements. The role monitors work flow and quality using computerized programs for preventive and corrective maintenance, major projects, financial management, and energy controls, while overseeing preventative maintenance programs to support uninterrupted physical plant operations. Additional responsibilities include prioritizing assigned work in consultation with hospital maintenance teams; overseeing vendor selection and performance; reviewing maintenance schedules and reporting conditions that may affect project timelines; developing performance standards for building systems and services; maintaining accurate records for drawings, purchase orders, vendors, and expenses; ensuring inventory of parts and supplies; and coordinating contractor requests for infection control risk assessment, traffic changes, and temporary or extended utility shutdowns as needed to support safe project delivery.
