The client is seeking an inspiring and visionary leader to assume overall leadership of a vibrant educational and cultural institution starting September 1, 2026. In this role, you will shape the strategic, academic, and organizational development of the school at the intersection of art, design, education, and societal change, positioning the client sustainably within national and international contexts. Co-leadership or job-sharing models are welcome, provided responsibilities and roles are clearly defined.
The client is the largest independent art and design school in Switzerland, employing around 50 staff members and 180 lecturers. It sees itself as an educational institution and cultural actor that understands art and design as a social practice. The school offers various state-recognized programs and is a member of several design and art school associations. Responsibilities include overall leadership and strategy, positioning and partnerships, financial and resource management, HR and organizational development, and quality and institutional development.
The ideal candidate will have several years of leadership experience, financial expertise, and a professional background in art, design, culture, or academia. Knowledge of the Swiss education system and experience in project or quality management are required. The candidate should have a strategic and forward-looking mindset, be team-oriented, and committed to diversity and equal opportunity. Excellent German, very good English, and good French language skills are necessary, with additional qualifications in cultural management, fundraising, business administration, or HR management being advantageous. Position is based in Switzerland.
