Description

The client is seeking a project finance credit risk professional based in new york to conduct independent credit, financial, structural, and risk assessments of project finance transactions across areas such as renewable energy, energy transition, oil and gas, LNG, pipelines, and infrastructure. The role will independently analyze and validate project finance models, including revenue assumptions, operating costs, cash flow generation, debt repayment capacity, and key credit metrics such as debt service coverage ratios (DSCR).

Responsibilities will also include evaluating tax equity and back-leverage financing structures, assessing cash flow impacts, tax benefit allocations, partnership economics, flip structures, and sponsor buyout mechanisms. The role will identify and assess major project risks, such as construction, operational, counterparty, regulatory, political, sponsor, geographic, and market-related risks, and will prepare comprehensive credit approval memoranda and risk assessments for relevant risk committees in coordination with stakeholders.

The position will involve presenting transaction analyses and portfolio reviews to senior risk management, supporting ongoing portfolio management through covenant monitoring, waiver and amendment requests, credit reviews, and risk rating updates, and maintaining portfolio and pipeline reporting for timely decision-making. The successful applicant will have a bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline and typically at least seven years of project finance experience, with strong financial modeling and credit risk analysis capabilities, excellent communication skills for presenting complex analyses, and the ability to manage multiple transactions in a fast-paced environment; formal credit training is desirable, english fluency is required, and Spanish skills are strongly preferred. Advanced proficiency in spreadsheet and office tools is expected, and additional experience with relevant market data or programming may be viewed favorably.
