Description

The client seeks a Program Director of Virtual Mentoring to help conceive, build, and launch a virtual mentoring pilot year. In this internal ownership role, the Program Director will coordinate an external partnership, activate corporate partners, shape the mentor experience, support program learning, and develop a future growth strategy. The pilot aims to connect more students with caring adults who can help them build knowledge, confidence, and support networks for postsecondary education and career pathways, while also meeting participation goals through sufficient mentor and corporate involvement and delivering a strong, well-run mentor experience.

The Program Director will lead corporate partner activation and mentor experience by translating partner commitments into successful implementation following handoff from External Relations, partnering with corporate contacts to drive employee participation, and supporting onboarding, training, and ongoing engagement. The role will track participation, engagement, and experience, support stewardship, renewal, and growth, and provide progress updates to corporate partners to foster continued and ideally deeper involvement. The Program Director will also collaborate with strategic communications to create written and online materials that encourage corporate partnerships and increase mentor recruitment, and will support volunteer engagement and training by helping to create and execute mentor training prior to matching and ensuring ongoing support during mentor-mentee pair engagement.

The Program Director will manage the partnership with the technology partner and serve as a primary point of contact, including building an understanding of the partner’s virtual mentoring program model and coordinating implementation and pair support. The role will report back regularly to determine what program components need to be adjusted during the pilot. It will track and monitor program assessment using quantitative and qualitative input from students, mentors, corporate partners, and the external program partner to identify what is working, diagnose challenges, and recommend changes, while partnering with an organizational learning and impact team to define and monitor measures of pilot success and develop recommendations and a roadmap for potential scale.
