Description

We are seeking a Product Marketing Specialist (Contractor) to own the external story of Coach, an AI-powered career coaching platform. This role will help build a dedicated product marketing function within a mission-driven organization focused on democratizing career access for underrepresented youth. The successful candidate will be responsible for telling a true, intentional, sustained, and proactive product story through the channels where it is needed most.

Key responsibilities include owning product external communications such as launches, updates, partner-facing messages, and content that brings new users and partners to Coach. The role will help build the messaging and positioning foundation, including value propositions, ICP documentation, comparative positioning, and messaging frameworks, and will audit existing communications to evolve them into a reliable, proactive system. The specialist will collaborate cross-functionally with Product, Business Development, Partner Success, Partner stakeholders, and Data to support launch planning, partner communications, measurement and research input, and development of product-adjacent demo tools and collateral.

The position will define success metrics for launches and ongoing communications, track performance using existing analytics and marketing systems, and iterate based on results. Candidates should have 3–5 years of product marketing experience, strong storytelling grounded in product detail, and a preference for substance over hype. They should be comfortable operating in a small or scrappy environment, shaping foundational messaging artifacts while also shipping real launches, and be motivated by the mission to support learners across high school, postsecondary, and early-career job-seeking audiences; relevant edtech and/or AI experience, experience building new functions, familiarity with B2B2C motions, hands-on design capability, and website management experience are preferred.
